Its up there as an all time windiest for me, top 10 certainly. 40mph plus. When the rain squalls came through it was unbelievable, with water flying horiziontally. Carrying the kit was almost impossible so you had to hang on and wait for clear sky to return. Worthing was a good choice, serving up consistent, safe enough conditions, leaving you to concentrate on the wind. There was zero shorebreak, but half a mile out the ramps were well spaced and head height, with a full graduation of size in between. Jumping was risky but rewarded by long \'hang time\' and gentle landings.

After the last rain squall it settled down a bit, 4m rigged flat was still the optimum choice! Some sweet rides down the line, overpowered but good for whipping it round off the top. Stuck it out solo in the end until dark at 4:40pm, then endured the rocky walk back through the miles of shallows!!

Late on, just dusky, I gybed way out on a medium sized wave and started tracking it. At the point when i dropped in and was about to go down the line, a large rusty lump of steel rose up out of the wave face. Nice surprise.
